Kudos to the Daily News for endorsing Bill McDaniel for the Collier County Commission District 3 seat and for the video interviews the paper has posted at naplesnews.com/elections, which should prove to be a helpful tool for concerned and caring voters.

Each candidate was given ample opportunity to shine.

In the case of the McDaniel and incumbent Tom Henning interviews, if you have any doubt at all that Bill deserves your vote, please watch them both.

Bill has a plan for fixing what is broken within Collier government; Bill wants to bring business and jobs to Collier County; Bill is accessible (his cell phone number is under the “bio” portion of his web site, votebillmcdaniel.com); Bill can sell rocks and dirt, so he can certainly sell Collier County.

Bill has a proven track record of working by committee for the good of our citizens. Listen to Bill talk about his time on the board of Goodwill of Southwest Florida and how the organization has grown during that time.

If you’re still not convinced, go to the incumbent’s interview and listen to him try to think of one thing he is especially proud of accomplishing during his tenure — something he perhaps has shepherded through a county process for one of his constituents — and, gee, nothing comes right to mind.

He was probably more concerned with dreaming up some more negative ads to drop on the District 3 voters, the last refuge of the candidate who knows he has nothing to offer.

A vote for Bill is a vote for a better Collier County.
